So we've been in a bit of a drought here in Kinston lately. We knew that thunderstorms and rain were in our future so hubby decided to dig a few trenches over the weekend to help the water drain into the pond we have in the backyard. The rain started to come in yesterday and it was awesome to hear actual thunderstorms again. Well, today after Hubby got home from his job interview he went outside (in the rain) to just check on the trenches and drains to make sure everything was working the way it should.
Well, needless to say he had to fix them up a bit because the chicken coop was getting a little soggy around the door. He was outside for maybe 10 minutes and he was soaked. Thankfully, he saved the chickens and Maggie who watch the whole thing with me from our back patio dubbed her Daddy the "Chicken Hero". Here are some pictures - enjoy!
